Here’s another poem submitted by Patricia Capansky. She writes these wonderful poems about her experiences in life. Many of them are quite funny, I must say.
WHAT A RELIEF
While trimming on some tree limbs
at his hunting spot one day,
my Brother looked and saw this snake,
not very far away.
Not knowing if the snake he saw
was poisonous or not,
he didn’t know if he should run
or stay glued to his spot.
He looked around him everywhere,
not real sure what to do,
cause after checking things all out,
he had nowhere to run to.
The only place that he could see
where he could safely get,
was in the water close behind
where he’d be soaking wet.
So looking down at both his feet,
if water he should choose,
he checks to see if he has on
those famous Jesus Shoes.
He didn’t have much choice
as there’s just one way to go,
and what that snake was going to do,
he really didn’t know.
But knowing that the water
he could never walk upon,
imagine his relief when he found out
that snake was gone.
