Patricia Capansky submitted this poem, which talks about three dogs who went on a hunt (or at least that’s what they thought they did).
Little Bee’s Brave Encounter
Bumble Bee, Wanna Bee and Little Bee, all went out on a hunt the other night. Bumble Bee and Wanna Bee were tracking what they should, but Little Bee just couldn’t do things right.
The other two had struck a trail for raccoon, but Little Bee with those two didn’t go. Instead she wound up in a field not too far from the guys, squared off face to face with this big doe.
She tried to get her bluff in really early, by barking so this big old deer would run. The deer would snort and paw her hoof, each time that Blue Tick hound said, “Woof,” and finally wound up spoiling all her fun.
That big old doe kept snorting moving towards her, the dog knew she was running out of luck. And since she wasn’t any match for anything that big, she turned around and ran back to the truck.
